AJAX TechnologyThe Matrix CMS now contains a powerful web interface built using an AJAX framework. What this means (in English) is that the browser access works like Google Maps where you can interact dynamically with the system (scroll, zoom in, change view etc.) without waiting for the whole page to load again. |

Browser BasedThe main benefit for this is that users feel like they're using an application that just happens to be in a browser. Technically this is achieved by letting the user's machine do some of the work, but also by only sending the bits of data needed by the user instead of the whole page again. |

Lightning FastThe speed is nothing short of spectacular. Numerous times during development we've found gangs of programmers huddled around a machine making "oooh!" and "aaah!" noises and the interface is so beautiful that we're being asked by customers to migrate some of it back to our traditional client version. |

The above demonstration movie shows the Matrix CMS working in a Safari browser, connected in real-time to a 2Ghz dual-core G5 Mac over a 1Mb ADSL link. As you can see even with such a lowly specification the system is blisteringly fast!
